DUMALINAO, Zamboanga Del Sur (Feb. 9, 2019) – Two minors were died in fire incident transpired particularly at Purok Talaba, Barangay Camanga, Dumalinao, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 5:05 PM of February 8, 2019.
Initial investigation conducted by Dumalinao MPS disclosed that the bunkhouse owned by Robinson Bobo Restojas, 52 years old, married, businessman and a resident of aforesaid place was razed by fire.
There were two minor victims who died during the incident, namely:
1. three (3) years old girl, a resident of Purok Talaba, Barangay Camanga, Zamboanga Del Sur; and
2. six (6) years old boy and a resident of Purok Melodia, Barangay Poblacion, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The Investigator on-Case contacted Mr. Camelo Acojedo, Municipal Sanitary Inspector of Dumalinao to conduct post mortem examination upon the cadaver of the victims.
Further investigation revealed that there was a Close Circuit Television (CCTV) monitor installed in the area. Upon review of the footage, it was found out that the two victims entered the bunkhouse at around 4:40 in the afternoon of same date.
Fifteen (15) minutes later, Jucar Rustia Virrey father of one of the victims locked the door of the bunkhouse without noticing the children inside. Flame and heavy smoke engulfed the bunkhouse.
Moreover, a white Montero vehicle owned by Janeth Pamunag Restojas with temporary plate number 4085 parked adjacent of the bunkhouse incurred damages. The approximate amount of damages is still to be determined.
